Change the Sign

I don’t recall whether this happened at ZAU or ZJX, but one time the “Soup of the Day” on the Menu Board in the café was advertised to be clam chowder. I have mentioned before the miserly portion control protocol of Irene in the café at ZJX, but since my memory is leaning toward this being a ZAU event, I suspect that attribute might be universal among food service managers.

In any event, one of the lads came out of the serving area with his tray and bowl of soup, and looking at it closely intoned loud enough for all to hear, “you’d better change the sign to ‘potato soup’—I found the clam.”
